Who operates this website

This website, vlc-youngentrepreneurs.com (the “Website”), is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ([ENTITY TYPE / REGISTRATION NUMBER]), with registered address at [REGISTERED ADDRESS] (referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”). You can contact us at any time at info@vlc-youngentrepreneurs.com.

Purpose of the website

The Website provides information about the VLC Young Entrepreneurs program — an independent, English-language extracurricular program in Puçol, Valencia, in which high-school students build a startup over a school year — and allows prospective students and their parents or guardians, mentors, guest speakers, and sponsors to submit applications and inquiries through the forms provided.

Intellectual property

All content on the Website — including text, design, graphics, the VLC Young Entrepreneurs wordmark, layout, and source code — is the property of [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], or is used with the rightsholder’s permission, and is protected by Spanish and European intellectual-property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly communicate, or transform any part of the Website without our prior written consent, except where the law permits.

Limitation of liability

We take reasonable care to keep the information on the Website accurate and up to date, but we provide it “as is” and make no warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct or indirect damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Website, including errors, interruptions, or the presence of malicious software. The Website may contain links to third-party sites; we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Governing law

This Legal Notice is governed by Spanish law. Any dispute relating to the Website shall be submitted to the competent courts of Spain, in accordance with applicable law.

2 · Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and process personal data through the Website, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation, “GDPR”) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on the Protection of Personal Data and the Guarantee of Digital Rights (“LOPDGDD”).

Data controller

The data controller is [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ([ENTITY TYPE / REGISTRATION NUMBER]), registered address [REGISTERED ADDRESS], email info@vlc-youngentrepreneurs.com.

What personal data we collect and how

We collect the personal data you provide through the four application forms on the Website:

  • Student / parent application: student name, age or grade, school, parent or guardian name, parent email and phone, and the free-text reason for applying.
  • Mentor application: name, company, role, email, LinkedIn (optional), area of expertise, and a free-text note.
  • Speaker application: name, company, role, email, talk topic, and a short free-text bio.
  • Sponsor inquiry: business name, contact name, email, phone, and a free-text description of how you would like to support the program.

We also process limited technical and usage data through cookies, as described in the Cookie Policy below.

Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give when you submit a form, and on the basis of pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) in order to assess and respond to your application or inquiry. For students who are minors, the legal basis is the consent given by their parent or legal guardian (see “Minors and Parental Consent” below).

Purposes of processing

  • Administering the program, including reviewing and responding to applications;
  • Communicating with applicants, participants, and their parents or guardians;
  • Coordinating mentors, guest speakers, and sponsors; and
  • Operating, maintaining, and improving the Website.

Data retention

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above — generally for the duration of the relevant application process and program — and thereafter only for any period required to comply with our legal obligations. When the data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We do not share it with third parties except with service providers that process data on our behalf and that are necessary to run the program and the Website — for example form-submission and email delivery, hosting, and analytics providers — who act as data processors under appropriate agreements and only on our instructions. We may also disclose data where we are required to do so by law. Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area (for example, the analytics provider described below), such transfers are protected by an adequacy decision or by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data and to request its rectification or erasure; to object to processing; to request data portability; and to request the restriction of processing. You may also withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@vlc-youngentrepreneurs.com; we may ask you to verify your identity before we act on a request.

Complaints

If you believe we have not handled your personal data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, AEPD) at www.aepd.es.

Data security

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or destruction. While no method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, we take reasonable steps to safeguard the information you provide to us.

Minors and Parental Consent

The program serves high-school students, some of whom may be under 18. Applications for students are submitted by a parent or legal guardian, not by the student directly. By submitting a student application, the parent or guardian confirms that they hold parental authority or legal guardianship and consents to the processing of the student’s personal data for the purpose of administering the program and communicating about it. A parent or guardian may contact us at info@vlc-youngentrepreneurs.com at any time to access, correct, or delete their child’s personal data, or to withdraw their consent.
